Reflective Essay
In 1-2 well-organized double-spaced pages (Times New Roman 12pt font) that represent your best writing, summarize the outcomes of your participation in the Summer Teacher Institute at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. What goals for learning did you pursue during the Institute? How has your participation better prepared you to integrate popular music into your curriculum? Include specific examples. Cite any references you may choose to mention. Essays will be graded based on organization, mechanics, and content as described in the directions above.
Class Activity
Develop and describe an original activity that integrates popular music into your classroom curriculum. Your description must address the following:
• Target level
• Time frame
• At least one measurable objective
• Any related educational standards
• An overview of procedures involved and materials used
• At least one assessment tool
You must develop an activity with content that differs substantially from those distributed at the Institute or on the website of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
