Great week of learning. By Monday evening I was already making plans to come back in 2012 and who else I would bring with me. I felt all week that I was treated as an equal professional in comparison to presenters, staff, and other campers.
This week will have a lasting impact on my teaching and students! I can bring diverse music to my students and explain background info on it as well as make connections to other subjects. I want to use music to teach my students.
This is a program that must be taken again and again by teachers! It is by its nature full of layers that need to be explored and re-explored. I’ll be back!
New ideas were exploding within my head on a continual basis for lesson plans as I listened and learned. I feel very well equipped to start my new English electives course: Language and the Contemporary Song Lyric as a result of attending the Institute. The exhibits were bridged with topics effectively and events were VERY well prepared.
