Author Series with Bill Janovitz of Buffalo Tom: "Rocks Off: 50 Tracks That Tell the Story of the Rolling Stones"

Author Series with Bill Janovitz at Cuyahoga Community College’s Tommy LiPuma Center for Creative Arts in the Black Box Theater (adjacent to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Library and Archives, 2809 Woodland Avenue, Cleveland)

Bill Janovitz is a singer, guitarist, and songwriter in the band Buffalo Tom. His recent book, Rocks Off:  50 Tracks That Tell the Story of the Rolling Stones (St. Martin’s Press; $25.99; Hardcover) presents the story of the Rolling Stones as told through 50 of their most representative songs.  Janovitz is also the author of Exile on Main Street (from the critically acclaimed 33 1/3 series) about the iconic Stones album. Following the program, Janovitz will participate in a book signing.  This event is free with a reservation. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and Case Western Reserve University will honor rock and roll pioneers the Everly Brothers during the 19th Annual Music Masters® series this October. Don and Phil Everly were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a part of the first class of inductees in 1986.  Two-time Grammy Award winner Rodney Crowell will serve as musical director for the tribute concert, which will take place on Saturday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m. at PlayhouseSquare’s State Theatre. Tribute concert artists will be announced in the coming months.

The weeklong celebration begins on Monday, October 20, and will feature interviews, panels, films and educational programs throughout the week, including a keynote lecture at Case Western Reserve University. On Saturday, October 25, a conference will be held at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, exploring the Everly Brothers’ impact on popular music. The tribute concert will be held Saturday, October 25, at 7:30 p.m. at PlayhouseSquare’s State Theatre in Cleveland. Ticket information will be announced in the coming weeks.
