Latino Heritage Festival 2014

Saturday, September 13: 12 p.m.

The Latino Heritage Festival celebrates the rich Hispanic culture and musical traditions.

This event will take place on the outside plaza of the Rock Hall on Saturday, September 13 from Noon to 4 p.m. and includes live performances by local musical acts and special representation from local Latino organizations. Cleveland Latin music radio station La Mega 87.7fm will emcee this event and broadcast live from the Museum. The Latino Heritage Festival is FREE, however paid admission is necessary to tour the Rock Hall exhibits.

Acts performing at the annual Latino Heritage Festival include:

  • The Ivan Ruiz Band:  a salsa band from Cleveland, performing at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum’s Latino Heritage Festival for the first time. They’ll be bringing dancers to show attendees the steps to really groove.
  • DJ Flaco Flash: a regular DJ on La Mega 87.7 and will be spinning the hottest Latin radio favorites.
  • La Mega 87.7fm:  Cleveland’s “Latino and Proud” radio station, will be onsite and emceeing the event with giveaways and more.
  • More acts TBA.

The Latino Heritage Festival is a kick-off to National Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated September 15 - October 15 every year. The festival will feature local musical talent and will highlight Latino Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees including Carlos Santana, Linda Ronstadt and Ritchie Valens.

The Museum’s community festivals, sponsored by KeyBank, offer opportunities for Cleveland’s diverse ethnic communities to become more acquainted with the Rock Hall and the range of music styles and cultures it celebrates.

The Museum’s community festivals offer opportunities for Cleveland’s diverse ethnic communities to become more acquainted with the Rock Hall and the range of music styles and cultures it celebrates. Each festival offers free entertainment from national and local artists. These festivals are among the Museum’s most successful events, often with record-setting crowds. The community festivals are organized around specific dates and themes.

All festivals are FREE and open to the public. Paid admission is necessary to tour the Museum unless otherwise noted.

Free admission day
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum celebrates this National Holiday with free admission to the general public. A celebration of the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., is the focus of this glorious day of song and dance by outstanding national and local artists.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum partners with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District’s Arts Education Department in the presentation of its All City Arts Festival. This event is designed to feature the best work in all the arts disciplines of the students of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, from grades K-12.

ROCK AND SOUL FESTIVAL
This festival celebrates the contributions of African-Americans to the growth and development of rock and roll music. Both national and local artists participate in this festival.
