This is the summer to rock, and Summer in the City, the Rock Hall’s FREE live concert series, returns this season to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Beginning on Wednesday, July 17th some of the country’s most buzzed about up and coming artists will perform on the Museum plaza (weather permitting, if necessary it will be moved inside to the Main Stage), and concessions will be available for purchase from the Museum and local food trucks on the plaza, as well. Summer in the City is sponsored by KeyBank and Yuengling.

Each Summer in the City artist or band has been invited to blog on rockhall.com/blog to share their experiences with fans: how they got started, their inspirations, their aspirations for the future and what their thoughts are on performing in Cleveland at the Museum.

About Coliseum and Above This Fire

Formed in late 2003, Coliseum Louisville, KY/Birmingham, AL power trio has toured and recorded with relentless abandon for the better part of a decade. They issued a self-titled debut album on Level Plane in 2004, followed by the Goddamage EP on Auxiliary Records in 2005, before joining the Relapse Records roster in 2007 for the release of their second album, No Salvation. Following the release of No Salvation, the band embarked on countless tours in North America, Europe, Australia and Japan with Converge, High On Fire, MONO, Napalm Death, Baroness, Russian Circles, Torche, Integrity, and many others. In 2009, Coliseum released the "True Quiet / Last Wave" 7" single on Deathwish Inc. before joining the Temporary Residence family in 2010, where they have released their most compelling and resonant music to date.

Above This Fire integrates catchy, melodic, old-school hardcore, with Iron Maiden-esque metal riffs, and offers up punishing breakdowns for a resulting effect of super high-energy sound that is not often found in today's music. With kids lined up a city block deep outside, and hanging from the rafters inside, an Above This Fire show has fans rethinking hardcore music. Bulldozing past scenes and trends, the band strives to put a fresh coat on its approach year after year and now 12 years strong.
