Exhibit Highlights
The exhibits at the Museum utilize artifacts and multi-media - photos, video and interactive kiosks - to tell the story of rock and roll.
- One area examines rock’s roots, with displays on the blues, gospel, rhythm & blues and country, folk and bluegrass.
- Another area looks at the music scenes in various cities across the country and overseas, from Memphis in the Fifties to Detroit, Liverpool and San Francisco in the Sixties, Los Angeles in the Seventies, New York and London in the Seventies and Eighties and Seattle in the Nineties.
- Other Museum exhibits deal with such topics as rock’s early years, soul music, today’s chart topping and up-and-coming artists, the evolution of audio technology and Ohio’s musical heritage.
- Additional exhibits focus on the work of individual artists, ranging from the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Elvis, Jimi Hendrix and Les Paul. Of key historic note is a re-creation of the legendary Sun Studios, featuring original recording equipment used by producer Sam Phillips.
