Floyd Cramer’s biggest solo piano hit, “Last Date,” enters Billboard’s pop singles chart, where it will peak at #2.

After a decade of steady session work with Elvis Presley, Floyd Cramer’s final date with Presley yields “U.S. Male” and others.

1997

Floyd Cramer dies of cancer at home in Nashville.

2003

Floyd Cramer is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the eighteenth annual induction dinner. Paul Shaffer is his presenter.
