The Architects of Rock - Sun Studio This equipment is from the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis. The studio, originally called Memphis Recording Service, opened in 1949. Producer and Sun Records founder Sam Phillips went on to record Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, B.B. King, Howlin’ Wolf and others at this studio.
