Rock Hall Hosts 2011 Induction Ceremony Simulcast; Tickets $5

One guest will win a pair of tickets to the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Cleveland

CLEVELAND (February 16, 2011) – The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will host a simulcast of the 26th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Monday, March 14 beginning at 7 p.m. This will be the only place to watch the Induction Ceremony live the night of the event. This marks the 10th year that the Museum has offered this special event to the public. This Induction Simulcast event is generously sponsored by Ohio Natural Gas, Magic Hat Brewing Company and Pyramid Breweries, with the support of media sponsor Scene Magazine. All exhibits will be open to tour during the event.

Tickets to the Induction Watch Party are $5 and go on sale to Museum Members on  Friday, February 18 and are available to the general public on Monday, February 21 at all Ticketmaster outlets, via phone at 1-800-745-3000, online at www.ticketmaster.com and at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum Box Office. 

Doors for the event open at 7 p.m. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will screen the 3+ hour ceremony beginning at 8:30 p.m., including the performances and presentations, which will be broadcast on a giant 12 foot screen on the Museum’s Main Stage and several large screens throughout the Museum.  Refreshments, including beer and wine, and snacks will be available for purchase throughout the evening.

One lucky person will be randomly selected to receive a pair of tickets to the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Cleveland’s historic Public Hall. Each guest at the Simulcast may fill out one entry form to the contest. All exhibits will be open to tour during the event, including the Rock Hall’s newest exhibit designed to honor the 2011 Inductees, as well as the Museum’s new photography exhibit, Girls on Film: 40 Years of Women in Rock, which offers a snapshot into the world of some of the most influential women in rock and roll over the last four decades by photographer Anastasia Pantsios.

•    Jac Holzman will be inducted by John Densmore (the Doors)
•    Art Rupe will be inducted by Lloyd Price

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Award for Recording Excellence (previously the Sidemen category):
•    Leon Russell will be inducted  by Elton John

The 2011 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be later televised exclusively on Fuse on Sunday, March 20 at 9 p.m. EST.
