Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum

Greg Harris: Vice President of Development

Greg Harris joined the Rock Hall in 2008 after 14 years at The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY.  Founded in 1939, The National Baseball Hall of Fame is the country’s oldest and best-known sports museum.  While there, he held a number of positions including Director of the Broadcast Media Collection, Director of Membership, Director of Development, and Vice President of Development.  He worked closely with Hall of Fame members and supporters with an emphasis on raising funds and building awareness of the institution and its educational mission. In addition to traditional development duties, Harris worked with national sponsors, developed a broadcast licensing program, and represented the institution in Washington D.C. where he built a successful government affairs practice for the Museum.

A passion for music made the shift from baseball to Rock and Roll incredibly compelling for Harris.  In the 1980s, he and a partner founded, owned and operated the Philadelphia Record Exchange, a music store that specialized in selling rare, used and independent records.  He has also served as a road manager for a nationally touring group and played guitar in garage bands.
A native of Bucks County, PA he holds a B.A. degree in history from Temple University and a master’s degree from Cooperstown Graduate Program for History and Museum Studies.

He resides in the Cleveland area with his wife, Deirdre, and two children.
