21th Annual Tri-C® High School Rock Off Last Three Bands Graduate to Final Exam Final Exam Schedule Announced

CLEVELAND, OH – February 19, 2017 – After four exciting and packed Rock Off performance rounds the last three bands have qualified to compete in The Final Exam to be held at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum this Saturday, February 25th:

Finalists from Round 4 (2/18/17):
Assault- Highland, Normandy & North Ridgeville
Bucyrus HS Xband- Bucyrus
Time Out- Hilliard Darby

Each band that qualified for The Final Exam will play a 15 minute set. All finalists recorded one original song at Tri-C’s Tommy LiPuma Center for Creative Arts, produced by Jim Stewart Recording and students from Tri-C’s Recording Arts program. The songs will be available as free downloads on www.rockhall.com/rockoff beginning Saturday, Feb. 25th.

THE FINAL EXAM tickets are available to purchase for $12.00 through the participating Final Exam Rock Off performers, www.rockhall.com/rockoff and at the Rock Hall box office the night of the performance. Admission tickets to the Rock Off includes admission the Rock Hall and exhibits the night of the show!

The annual event is presented by Live Nation, Cuyahoga Community College Recording Arts and Technology School, Scene Magazine, Fox 8, 96.5 KISS FM, 100.7 WMMS and iHeart Media. Once again all High School Rock Off tickets will include admission to the Rock Hall and access to its newest exhibits including Right Here, Right Now, an evolving exhibit which takes a look at rock and roll’s impact on the next generation of artists. Additionally, select bands from this year’s High School Rock Off will perform at the Rock Hall as part of their live summer music concert series in front of the museum on Cleveland’s lakefront.

2017 sponsors include School of Rock, Jim Stewart Recording, Guitar Center, Grabbit and Cleveland Pickle. New participating sponsors include Quicken Loans Arena and their championship teams The CAVS, The Monsters and The Gladiators.

A portion of the proceeds from the 21st Annual Tri-C® High School Rock Off will support the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s educational activities which are among the most celebrated in the nation, reaching more than 50,000 students, adults and educators each year. Educational onsite programs like Toddlers Rockin’ the Schools and programs through its Digital Classroom are designed to offer fans of all ages a deeper understanding of the cultural impact that rock and roll has made. Additionally, numerous artists and musicians come to the Rock Hall each year to be part of panel discussions, to perform, meet with fans and show their support. All of the prize money is compliments of the local School of Rock franchise. The winning band will receive $1,000 cash and $250 for their high school music program. The winning band will also win a $1,000 gift card compliments The Guitar center. Second place will receive $250 cash and $100 for their high school music program and third place will receive $100 cash.

The winning band will also receive the opportunity to perform at the 2017 Vans Warped Tour presented by Journey’s at Blossom Music Center and will also have the opportunity to perform on the Rock Hall’s new seasonal outdoor stage next summer. One of the finalists will also be selected to perform next summer at Tri-C JazzFest Cleveland.

The winning band will be invited to attend the March 19 Bon Jovi concert at Quicken Loans Arena. The tickets to the concert are compliments of Bon Jovi themselves!  Rock Off bands can submit their videos for a chance to be selected to be the opening act for the March 19th concert here in Cleveland at The Q.
