American Electric Power Foundation Awards Rock & Roll Hall of Fame $600,000 Grant Towards Education Efforts

Awarded Funds Will Be Used to Enhance the Digital Learning Platform, Rock Hall EDU

Aiding in the Rock Hall’s mission to engage, teach, and inspire through the power of rock and roll, the American Electric Power Foundation has awarded the Museum a $600,000 grant to be used toward the free digital learning platform, Rock Hall EDU powered by PNC.

“We’re honored to receive this funding to grow and enhance our online learning platform, especially in a time where virtual learning is front and center in homes across the globe, ” said Jason Hanley, Vice President of Education and Visitor Engagement for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. “Our educational resources and activities that use the power of rock & roll have reached nearly a million students around the world, and this grant will allow us to further expand that reach to many more.”

This is the AEP Foundation’s second $600,000 grant made in support of Rock Hall EDU. The first grant was made in 2017 during the early stages of the learning platform.

Additionally, AEP Foundation have also granted the Rock Hall one million dollars in support of the Museum 2.0 expansion campaign. The Museum plans to recognize AEP’s support through a naming of one of the future classrooms in the newly constructed space.

Teachers and parents can create a free account at Rock Hall EDU (rockhall.com/education) to explore and download resources developed by our award- winning education team. You’ll find professionally developed lesson plans, activities and downloadable activity sheets, presentations, videos, playlists, writing prompts, and more to engage students in the power of rock & roll as they learn about history, language arts, science, math and, of course, music. All materials meet national and state learning standards.
