AT&T Provides Free Admission To the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame During the Republican National Convention

CLEVELAND (April 21, 2016) – From the moment rock and roll hit the airwaves, it’s continued to play a crucial role in our cultural and political conversations. This year during the Republican National Convention, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will open its doors to music fans from around the country and the world.   Thanks to the generous support of AT&T, admission to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will be free-of-charge to all guests 10AM – 3PM July 18, 2016 through July 21, 2016.

“AT&T has been part of the Cleveland community for over 100 years and has a long history of working with local institutions and we’re thrilled to work with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame,” said Adam Grzybicki, President, AT&T Ohio.  “It is our hope that as many visitors as possible can visit the museum and see first-hand what a unique institution it truly is.”

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame provides a window into Cleveland’s history and culture. Visitors will be able to experience the Rock Hall’s many exhibits that tell the story of how music shapes our culture, helps communicate ideas and brings about social change.

AT&T will also be a co- sponsor of the “Louder Than Words: Rock, Power and Politics,” the exhibit exploring music’s power to change the attitudes of patriotism, peace, equality and freedom.  The exhibit will premiere in Cleveland on May 20th at the Rock Hall and January 6th, 2017 at the Newseum in Washington, D.C., where it will be on display during the 2017 presidential inauguration events and through July 31, 2017.

“As the world’s eyes focus on Cleveland, it’s the perfect time for us to explore music’s powerful role in politics,” said Greg Harris, president and CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. “‘Louder Than Words’ highlights how artists have used rock and roll as a platform to express their views and shape public opinion from Aretha Franklin and Bob Dylan to Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar.”

“We are delighted that AT&T and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame are providing this opportunity for all residents and visitors in Cleveland during the convention,” said Jeff Larson, CEO, Republican National Convention Committee on Arrangements. “Our delegates and guests are excited that the Hall of Fame will be open to them and they look forward to attending.”

“Having AT&T underwrite access to the world’s only Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and one of Cleveland’s signature cultural icons adds energy and excitement to the experience we can offer to visitors and citizens of Cleveland,” said David Gilbert, president and CEO, Cleveland 2016 Host Committee. “As convention hosts, we’re excited to show the world how Cleveland has evolved and share the essence of what makes our city great– including our rich music heritage.”
