Internships are offered in various departments including: Museum Collections, Development, Digital Media, Education, Human Resources, Legal, Library and Archives, Marketing and Communications and other departments.

Education Division Coordinator – Job No. 1715 - The Education Division Coordinator reports to the Vice President of Education & Visitor Engagement and is responsible for creating and maintaining systems that improve internal efficiencies and helps to create a positive work environment for all staff members.  This includes day to day support of divisional activities, assisting in the production of Education events, and sharing your love of rock and roll with music fans from around the world.

Manager of Sales – Job No. 1710 - The Manager of Sales reports to the Senior Director of Sales and is responsible for sales of the Rock Hall’s facility rentals program, generating revenue, acquiring new business, and maintaining relationships with existing clients.

Eligibility

An intern must currently be enrolled in a college or graduate school program, preferably sophomore - senior status. Internships are done on a volunteer basis. The Museum does not offer compensation. Availability to work 12 or more hours a week, up to 40 hours a week during the summer, for a minimum of 8 weeks. Requirements may vary per department.

Application Procedures

Please apply online within each department listing. Complete the following steps to apply for an internship with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame: 

  • Prepare a cover letter and resume.
  • Include a letter of reference/recommendation from a professor in your field.*
  • Personal Statement - prepare a one-page summary describing what you hope to bring to the internship and what you hope to gain during the internship.

*the letter of recommendation may be sent separately from the online application materials if necessary. Please submit to [email protected].

Deadlines for college internship applications are as follows: 
*Applications will still be considered after scheduled deadlines for internship positions that have not been filled.

Summer (May – August)

Become a Roadie at the Rock Hall!

Roadies (volunteers) have the unique opportunity to contribute their gift of time and talent to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Library and Archives. 

Roadies often give us a hand during regular business hours: 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Monday – Friday, including occasional special events in the evenings and weekends.

* While there are limited volunteer opportunities currently available; applications are always accepted. We will contact prospective applicants who have the appropriate skill sets and availability when an opportunity arises.

Docent

A docent is a member of the Rock Hall Roadie Volunteer Program who is specially trained to conduct interpretive tours of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for visitors of all ages. All docents attend an intensive Docent Training Course which covers the history of rock and roll, the contents of all Museum exhibits and touring techniques. They provide tours of the museum to visitors, members, and events, and also train other volunteers and assist with volunteer opportunities. Docents attend continuing education courses offered by the education department.
