Internships are offered in various departments including: Museum Collections, Development, Digital Media, Education, Human Resources, Legal, Library and Archives, Marketing and Communications and other departments.
We also offer an exciting work environment, great hands on experience, plus additional professional development workshops and training during the summer session.

Librarian – Job No. 1702 - The Librarian reports to the Senior Director of Library and Archives and performs descriptive cataloging of library resources; assists in providing instruction and reference service and engaging users through outreach activities; assists in the collection development of library resources; and supervises the work of the Library Assistant, interns, and volunteers.
Exhibitions Specialist – Job No. 1701 - The Exhibitions Specialist reports to the Director of Design and Exhibitions and is responsible for assisting the Director of Design & Exhibitions and the Senior Preparator in the design and construction of the Museum’s exhibitions, interior and exterior public spaces, and exhibits.
Database Administrator – Job No. 1612 - The Database Administrator reports to the Senior Director of Development and is responsible for ensuring data and entries related to all charitable gifts, stock donations, pledges and memberships are accurately recorded in the database, and reconciled appropriately.
Library Assistant – Job No. 1611 - The Library Assistant reports to the Senior Director of Library & Archives and is responsible for the acquisition of library resources; handling the paperwork for library donations to the Library & Archives; managing the inventory and physical space for library collections; and assisting with public programming at the Library & Archives.
Digital Archivist – Job No. 1608 – The Digital Archivist reports to the Head Archivist and is responsible for processing, digitizing, cataloguing and creating access to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s museum and archival collections; conducting historical research to validate, update and correct collections data; applying archival standards to digitization process of archival materials and digital media.

Responsibilities include monitoring the Museum to ensure a safe and secure environment, providing superior visitor service and accurate information about the Museum. this position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a minimum of six months experience in a highly visible security position or criminal justice/law enforcement training preferred. CPR and First-Aid training is highly desired. We accept applications for full and part time positions as well as seasonal positions (Memorial Day through Labor Day) on an ongoing basis. Candidates must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and the ability to work rotating shifts and on short notice. Must have reliable transportation. Employment is contingent upon the ability to successfully pass a background investigation, drug screen and a reference check. Visitor Service Representative
Responsibilities include providing superior visitor service by assisting visitors and providing accurate information about the Museum. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. One to three years customer service experience; front-line hospitality experience preferred, excellent interpersonal communication, bi-lingual capabilities helpful. We accept applications for full and part time positions as well as seasonal positions (Memorial Day through Labor Day) on an ongoing basis. Candidates must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and the ability to work rotating shifts and on short notice. Membership Representative - The Membership Representative is responsible for selling and promoting memberships in support of the Museum’s strategic objectives. This position serves as primary point of contact for prospective new members, determining their needs and offering the appropriate membership solutions.
We recruit for seasonal Visitor Service and Security Representative positions every spring. Seasonal positions during the summer are from mid-May through Labor Day. Interested candidates must have the ability to work up to 29 hours a week with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and the ability to work rotating shifts and on short notice. Must have reliable transportation. Employment is contingent upon your ability to pass a background investigation, drug screen and a reference check.

A docent is a member of the Rock Hall Roadie Volunteer Program who is specially trained to conduct interpretive tours of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for visitors of all ages. All docents attend an intensive Docent Training Course which covers the history of rock and roll, the contents of all Museum exhibits and touring techniques. They provide tours of the museum to visitors, members, groups, and events, and also train other volunteers and assist with volunteer opportunities. Docents attend continuing education courses offered by the education department.
