All this, plus a renowned, drama-rich live show, endeared them to a legendary fanbase who eagerly awaited every effort of this beloved, stubbornly authentic trio.

Signature Sound
Rush evolved from bluesy hard rock to prog mastery in the ‘70s, experimenting with more streamlined, synth-y work in the ‘80s, back to heavier, guitar-based fare in the ‘90s and ‘00s. Throughout it all, the power trio’s music showcased their unmatched virtuosity, lyrical ambition, and canny ability to offer both complexity and accessibility.
The first song released with game-changing drummer/lyricist Neil Peart, its re-release was the first Rush song to crack the Billboard Hot 100.

A Different Drummer

Neil Peart was known for having extraordinary drumkits custom built for Rush’s tours. This snare drum was part of the Drum Workshop kit inspired by the theme of the band’s 2012 album Clockwork Angels, and Peart played this snare on Rush’s subsequent Clockwork Angels tour (2012-13).
Crafted from barrel-stave redwood, it is embellished with copper leaf and silver alchemy symbols. Said Peart, “The small, unique details … demonstrate DW’s imaginative willingness to consider every possibility and make it real.”

The band built its following with no hype, no bullshit. They did it from the ground up without help from the mainstream press… Their influence is undeniable.
