Motown and its affiliate labels were primarily known for vocalists. Saxophonist Jr. Walker was the major exception. Walker and his group, the All Stars, were a powerful hit-making band. Walker’s sweet sax tone and gutsy vocals helped propel songs like “Shot Gun” and “What Does It Take to Win Your Love” to the top of the charts. This was Walker’s primary recording instrument in the Sixties. Jr. Walker died in 1995.
