Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Announces New Museum Board Chair and Members
Gregg Lowe appointed as board chair and Chad Barnhill and Anthony Sharett join the Museum’s board of directors
The board of directors of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio announced that Wolfspeed, Inc. President and CEO Gregg Lowe was elected board chairman. Lowe was selected to succeed Paul Clark, former PNC Bank regional President and community leader, who served as board chairman since 2019. Clark will continue to serve as a Museum trustee.
“With decades of leadership and innovation Gregg Lowe is the perfect chairman to lead us into our next exciting chapter of expanding our impact and reach,” said Greg Harris, President & CEO, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. “We are grateful to Paul Clark and we are a much stronger organization today because of his visionary leadership during these extraordinary times.”
“It is a privilege to support the Museum’s mission to engage, teach, and inspire through the power of rock & roll,” said Gregg Lowe, President & CEO, Wolfspeed, Inc. “The Museum has an exciting future, including a 50,000 square foot renovation and expansion that will create a Museum campus for exhibitions, archives, interactive classrooms, and events. I look forward to working with the staff, my fellow board members, and the entire community as we leverage the power of music to do good.”
Lowe is the fifteenth Museum board chair for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and has served on the board since 2010, including as co-chair of the Museum’s education committee. A Cleveland native, Lowe was formerly CEO and President at Freescale Semiconductor, Inc. and Ltd. and NXP USA, Inc. Lowe has more than a decade of executive leadership experience at Texas Instruments and holds Silicon Labs' board position.
In addition to the board’s leadership changes, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum named Chad Barnhill (JACK Entertainment) and Anthony Sharett (Meta Financial Group & MetaBank) to the board of directors. They join an active group of trustees made up of business, industry, and community leaders nationwide.
The board supports the nonprofit educational organization’s mission to engage, teach and inspire through the power of rock & roll. Focus areas for the board in 2022 include the Museum’s lakefront expansion project, the continued growth of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s free online education platform Rock Hall EDU (which now reaches more than one million students worldwide), the 37th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on November 5th in Los Angeles, and featured exhibits, including “The Beatles: Get Back to Let It Be,” an immersive experience based on the celebrated docuseries.
