Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Appoints Shelley Roth to Board of Trustees

The President of Pierre’s Ice Cream brings expertise to the Rock Hall’s during its transformation process

CLEVELAND (March 2, 2017) - The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is pleased to announce that Shelley Roth, President of Pierre’s Ice Cream Company, has been appointed to its Board of Trustees.

In 1979, Roth returned from working at Atlantic Records in New York to Cleveland to assist her father with the family business. In 1991, she became President of the now 84-year-old regional ice cream manufacturer and distributor. Over the years, under Roth’s leadership, the company underwent a multi-million dollar expansion at its headquarters, manufacturing facility and warehouse in Cleveland. Numerous upgrades, including branding, state-of-the-art technology efficiencies, enhanced food-safety and food-quality features, were added to provide world-class service.

“We are thrilled to welcome the innovative leader of another iconic Ohio brand to our team. Shelly’s focus on growth, quality and innovation – as well as a music industry background – make her a perfect trustee,” said Greg Harris, CEO and President of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. “She joins the board during an exciting time as we continue the transformation of the Rock Hall to provide the very best experience for visitors from around the world.”

“Similar to Pierre’s, the Rock Hall is an anchor in Cleveland that demonstrates a bold commitment to the community,” said Roth. “I’m excited to join the Board during one of the Rock Hall’s biggest transformations and to be involved in its investment in our community.”

One of Cleveland’s marquee attractions, the Rock Hall has welcomed more than 11 million guests from around the world and contributes more than $100 million annually to the local economy. Board members, appointed to three-year terms, include a mix of business, industry and community leaders worldwide that support the Rock Hall’s unique mission to engage, teach and inspire through the power of rock and roll. The board is currently focused on the Rock Hall’s transformation, which includes the unveiling of the new Connor Theater, enhancements to the Live Outdoor Summer Music Experience and the new “All Access” dining and events, featuring food from Cleveland’s top celebrated chefs, this summer.

Roth has been active in numerous community organizations to support the revitalization of Cleveland’s neighborhoods. She is also a graduate of Leadership Cleveland. Presently, Roth serves on the boards of the Cuyahoga Community College Foundation and International Ice Cream Association. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan. Roth and her husband live in Shaker Heights.
