Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Invites Educators to Attend Winter Rock Hall EDU Showcase

Event participants will learn how the Rock Hall builds stories around Inductees and includes presentations from teachers who attended the Summer Teacher Summit

Following a highly successful Virtual Teacher Summit which took place over the summer, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s award-winning education department is proud to announce plans for the Winter Rock Hall EDU Showcase.

Learn how the Rock Hall builds the stories around Inductees from the artifacts we display, to the songs we share in playlists, and to the activities they inspire on our digital education platform, Rock Hall EDU powered by PNC. Plus, see presentations from teachers who attended the Museum’s 2021 Summer Teacher Summit sharing how they use Rock Hall EDU in their own classrooms.

The showcase is virtual and will be available to stream for free on the Rock Hall’s YouTube channel on December 7th from 7:00PM – 9:00PM EST. The event is open to all with pre-registration.

This event is made possible thanks to the generous support of the American Electric Power Foundation. AEP has been a leader and supporter of Rock Hall EDU since its inception, and the foundation has played an instrumental role in helping this free, digital education platform reach over 1 million students worldwide.

Teachers, parents, and guardians can create a free account at Rock Hall EDU (rockhall.com/education). The site contains professionally developed lesson plans, activities and activity sheets, presentations, videos, playlists, writing prompts, and more to engage students in the power of rock & roll as they learn about history, language arts, science, math and, of course, music. All materials meet national and state learning standards.

About The American Electric Power Foundation

The American Electric Power Foundation is funded by American Electric Power (Nasdaq: AEP) and its utility operating subsidiaries. The Foundation provides a permanent, ongoing resource for charitable initiatives in the communities served by AEP and initiatives outside of AEP’s 11-state service area.

The Foundation focuses on improving lives through education from early childhood through higher education in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math and by meeting basic needs for emergency shelter, affordable housing and the elimination of hunger. Our Social and Racial Justice grant program, Delivering On the Dream, is for organizations whose mission and/or programming is committed to positive social and racial justice outcomes. Other Foundation support may be offered to protect the environment, support healthcare and safety, and enrich life through art, music and cultural heritage.
