From Rock and Roll to Recovery and All Points in-between. Ricky Byrd is more than grateful for his music career which includes being inducted into the Rock Hall in 2015 with Joan Jett and The Blackhearts. He's also grateful for his sobriety which began in Sept of 1987. After 2 decades of one long party "It was time" says Ricky. For the past 6 years Ricky has combined his music and sobriety by leading recovery music groups at treatment facilities across the country. This led to his 2017 cd release "Clean Getaway", a collection of 12 songs evoking the intricacies and emotions behind addiction and recovery. Since it's release Ricky has given away over 2000 copies to the clients he plays to in treatment hoping the songs help those struggling with addiction. It is available for purchase at www.rickybyrd.hearnow.com. Ricky is currently working on a follow up cd which can be pre ordered at www.rickybyrd.com
Kathy Valentine made her name as a member of the Go-Go’s, the iconic all-female band cemented in music history with their unprecedented success as chart-toppers in the 80’s and Broadway composers in 2018. Valentine wrote or co-wrote several of the Go-Go’s hit songs, including “Vacation” and “Head Over Heels.” Her memoir for the esteemed UT Press is slated for April 2020. She has continued to find new challenges as a writer, public speaker, spokesperson, producer, mentor and actor, but still plays regularly with her band. Kathy resides in her hometown of Austin, Texas with her teenage daughter. www.kathyvalentine.com
Few performers in the music industry today can claim the longevity and respect earned by Genya Ravan. Always a pioneer, Genya formed Goldie and the Gingerbreads in the early sixties, touring behind a string of European hits with the Rolling Stones, Kinks, Yardbirds and Hollies. In the 70s she became the powerful voice of Ten Wheel Drive and later one of the first independent female producers with work including critically acclaimed albums by Ronnie Spector and the Dead Boys. Genya continues to record and perform while celebrating women in music and unsigned new artists through two radio shows she hosts for Little Steven’s Underground Garage on Sirius/Xm. www.genyaravan.com
