To celebrate the anniversary of the Wildflowers album and the worldwide release of the award-winning documentary Tom Petty, Somewhere You Feel Free: The Making of Wildflowers, the Rock Hall opened a feature exhibit that spotlighted this incredible album, and will host a series of events in the upcoming months.

You Don't Know How It Feels - Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers' Wildflowers Exhibit

Opened Nov 19th

A special exhibit inside Right Here, Right Now will spotlight the Wildflowers album, which was released November 1, 1994.

On display, fans will find artifacts surrounding the Wildflowers era sessions and corresponding tour including work-in-progress handwritten lyrics to songs like "Crawling Back To You" and "You Don't Know How It Feels," Petty's custom Blonde Toru Nittono electric guitar, Mike Campbell's Fender Jazzmaster, Howie Epstein's Fender jazz bass, Scott Thurston's harmonicas and Steve Ferrone's touring Pearl drum kit, along with Tom Petty’s personal wardrobe worn on tour, in the studio and on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine.

Virtual Hall of Fame Series Interview with members of The Heartbreakers

Fans can learn more about the legacy of 2002 Inductee Tom Petty and his 1994 album Wildflowers during a virtual interview with members of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Benmont Tench and Steve Ferrone, and Tom Petty Estate Archivist Alison Tavel. Moderated by the Rock Hall’s Senior Director of Museum & Archival Collections Andy Leach, this conversation also covers the newly released box set Wildflowers & All the Rest, the recent documentary Somewhere You Feel Free, and the Rock Hall’s current Wildflowers exhibit.

This event will air on Rock Hall’s YouTube page on Friday, January 28, and on SiriusXM’s Tom Petty Radio and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Radio in the coming weeks.
